Celebrating
our identity
Our community showcases its history, identity and people through Nou Le Morne. Our cultural festival is an environmentally responsible celebration that exhibits a wonderful range of talents, influences, sounds and generations. This two-day event at The Green Village features performances including music, dance, immersive installations and projections and collaboration with local and international artists and creative minds.
23 August. It’s around this symbolic date that we have decided to host Nou Le Morne festival in Mauritius. The International Day for the Remembrance of the Slave Trade and its Abolition was a natural choice in this cradle of resistance to slavery, now declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

While celebrating the exceptional natural and cultural heritage of Le Morne, this festive event also creates economic opportunities for the local community. The net proceeds from the event are also directed to support the NGO, Action Développement Le Morne (ADM), which strives to promote socio-economic development and better living conditions in the region.
